Tuckernuck Blend

* Tasting notes: molasses, cedar, brown sugar

Named for the 900 acre Island that sits adjacent to the main Island of ACK, Tuckernuck remains one for the more pristine areas within what comprises Nantucket. Deriving its waters from wells and its electricity from generators and solar panels, the island truly represents sustainability and it’s past in many ways. We believe this coffee is the embodiment of the individualism and resilience of the people and Island they chose to call home.
This dark roast Indonesian blend produces a rich velvety smooth full body coffee with low acidity and sweetness with a darker tone.
  • The perfect blend of select single origin beans
  • Rainforest Alliance Certified
  • Organic
  • 12 oz resealable compostable bags
  • Shipped fresh daily

* Tasting notes do not mean the coffee is flavored. Tasting notes for all coffees can be very subtle and dependent on the way the coffee is brewed.

Coffee details

You visited most of the beaches on ACK, stopped at Millies for a lobster roll, fished with Captain Tom, experienced the awesomeness of the Whaling and Shipwreck museums; but it wasn’t until you made the trek to that little island located at  41° 18′ 8″ N70° 15′ 26″ that you began to better understand the solace and quiet beauty the early settlers must have experienced on the Island.  The seals, sea ducks (and even a tern) are surrounded by the lapping waves and smell of beach rose, but within it’s subtle scale is the reminder of change from past waters and those yet to arrive. The Island has endured, and will continue, through the sunny and stormy days that make it a natural treasure. You pause, you listen, you observe, you understand. Our Tuckernuck Blend is like that, but it’s coffee…

Region Details

This blend primarily consists of shade grown beans from the island of Flores, which was first discovered by the Portuguese in the early 15th century. The Ngada district is where most coffee is grown, located on the slopes of the Inerie Volcano. Within Ngada, coffee is grown on an estimated 6000 hectares of which 90% is Arabica coffee. Coffee tree varieties include a high percentage of S795 Flores, Typica, Catimor and Timor hybrids with shade trees such as Bamboo and Juria varietal. All coffee is grown and processed by a cooperative organized by the farmers. These co-ops all work together to produce wonderful coffee with smooth, full body, and overwhelming, syrupy chocolate flavors.
