Single Origin

What makes single-origin so special?

It really depends on what you like

First, a single-origin coffee means that it comes from a single producer, crop, or region in one country. Many coffees, typically referred to as blends, aren’t single-origin and include more than one single-origin coffee bean.

Think of it like wine. When you buy a Cabernet from a specific grower of grapes, their Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay is a single grape wine typically from their vineyard. They may also blend different grapes (think, Cabernet + Shiraz) to get a unique named blend. Sorta the same thing.

We sample several single-origin coffee bean varieties every month. We evaluate them on green bean quality, flavor, roast consistency, farming practices, etc. The result are the beans we use in our blends and those single-origin coffees we roast. Your feedback is also important, and if there is a variety you particularly like, let us know.
